how to use ws-23 powder
WS-23 powder is used to add a cooling effect to your e-liquids. In this guide, we will explain how you can dilute WS-23 powder in PG to make your own cooling e-liquid enhancer.
Materials you will need:
- WS-23 powder (available here)
- Propylene glycol (PG available here)
- A bottle or container large enough to fit the amount of WS-23 enhancer you wish to make. (Mixing bottles available here, we recommend these wide neck bottles for ease of use) A clean glass container with a lid is most recommended.
- A clean stirring rod or spoon
- A digital scale (for precise measurements)
- Safety goggles and gloves (to protect yourself during the process)
Step-by-step instructions:
- Ensure you are working in a clean and well-ventilated area. Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself.
- Weigh the amount of WS-23 powder you want to dilute. For this example, let’s say you want to make a 10% dilution. If you have 1 gram of WS-23, you’ll need 9 grams of PG to make a 10% solution. Adjust the amounts according to your desired concentration. If you have trouble figuring out how much WS-23 powder you need to weigh out see below for further guidance.
- Open your container and place it on the scale. Tare (zero) the scale to account for the weight of the container.
- Carefully measure and add the desired amount of WS-23 powder to your container. Ensure that the powder is fully inside the container and not on the rim or outside.
- Remove the container from the scale and place it on a stable surface. Put on the lid tightly to avoid any leakage or evaporation during the mixing process.
- Shake the container vigorously for a few minutes to ensure the WS-23 powder is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Once the powder appears well-dispersed, open the container and add the measured amount of propylene glycol (PG) to the glass container. Pour it slowly and avoid spillage.
- Use the stirring rod or spoon to gently stir the mixture. Make sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the container to incorporate any undissolved powder.
- Once you have thoroughly mixed the WS-23 powder and PG, close the container tightly.
- Store the container in a cool, dark place to minimize exposure to light and heat. This will help preserve the potency of the WS-23 solution.
Remember to label the container with the concentration, date of preparation, and any other relevant information. It’s also essential to follow proper safety guidelines and handle chemicals responsibly.

How much WS-23 powder to use:
- First, decide what the total amount of WS-23 cooling enhancer you wish to make. In this example we will make 60mls.
- Next, decide what concentration of WS-23 cooling enhancer you wish to make.
WS-23 is often found in 10% dilution (often referred to as Koolada) or 30% dilution. In this example we will make 100mls of WS-23 with 20% dilution. The higher the dilution the stronger the cooling effect in the final e-liquid will be. - Now you know how much and what dilution of WS-23 you want we can follow this equation to figure out how much WS-23 powder to use.
– Take the total amount of WS-23 cooling enhancer you wish to make, so 60mls in this example, and divide this by 100. Your answer should be 0.6
– Multiply that answer by the desired concentration of WS-23, so in this example that would be 20. Your answer should be 12. - This is the weight of the amount of WS-23 powder to add to your container.
TECS Tips:
Warm Bath: You may find the WS-23 powder does not fully dissolve in the PG even after rigorous shaking. If this is the case you may want to try placing the container with the ws-23 powder and PG into a bowl of warm water. The heat will help the ws-23 gently dissolve better in the PG. Be sure to occasionally shake the WS-23 and PG mixture. It is advised to use a glass container to mix your WS-23 powder and PG in if you intend to warm your mixture to dissolve the powder, this is due to plastic bottles becoming soft and misshapen if they get too warm.
Wash your hands: It is important to wash your hands before and after handling WS-23 powder. There is likely to be an unpleasant sensation when the WS-23 powder makes contact with more sensitive skin. Gents, MAKE SURE to wash your hands before using the loo!
